Co-Creation Hub and Ogun State Government hosts the 1st AUIA Workshop

On the 8th - 9th of February, 2018, Co-Creation Hub Nigeria, supported by the Ogun state Government hosted the first AUIA workshop in Abeokuta, Ogun state; a 2-day workshop on “The Business Case for Academic Research in a Changing World”.

The sessions provided insights into the opportunities for academic research to constructively enable socio-economic development in Africa.

In attendance were over 50 head of departments, vice chancellors and rectors from Ogun State Tertiary Institutions including; Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Ogun State Institute of Technology, Ogun State College of Health Technology, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Gateway Industrial and Petrol-Gas Institute, Tai-Solarin College of Education, Tai-Solarin University of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University and DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic. The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology; Mrs. Modupe Mujota and staff of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Ogun State were also present.

In the coming months, we will provide participating universities with hands-on support in mapping their research expertise and interests with the goal of matching them to opportunities for funding and collaboration.

This is a first of its kind workshop in Nigeria and the intention is to host more across tertiary institutions in Africa in the near future.
